CEMC Away Day

The CEMC's first Away Day was today, held at Kirknewton.

The building was loaned to us by kind friends from the Parish.

"What is Your Part in Our Vision" was the question for the day - a vision which states that we want to be "A welcoming and inclusive Christian community in the heart of the City"

What state of heart do we need to adopt to do that?
Where in the City does God call us to?
What do we do when we get there?

Rev. Peter Neilson kicked off the day, sharing thoughts from Celtic spirituality.

I escaped with these folk for a 'workshop' - a short walk to a local high-point from which we could gaze back down into the City of Edinburgh.

We were provided some fantastic soup by Paul of Hedgerow's Cafe (East Calder garden centre).

We were sent out by Andrew, our Superintended Minister.

I've come back with a big smile to augment the tired eyes. What a great, hopeful day!

Oh, and here's a few more images from the day
