Bookcase
Thought I'd rearrange one of my bookcases.
Good Saturday.

Caution Tech Stuff:
Here's an easy quick blip. First I tied up a book with some rope and used some tape to hold the book in the loop of rope. Using an LED flashlight and a locked up mirror I shot the bookcase with the rope and book.
Now in front of a white sheet I take 3 different shots of myself working.
In Photoshop I place the bookcase as the bottom most layer. Next I add a blank layer that we will use later for shadow adding.
I then load each of my 3 shots of myself and using a magnetic lasso tool I trace around the outside of myself. I then add a mask which removes the background of white. I do this for all 3 of me.
One by one I drag each of me into new layers above the background layer. I then reduce myself size wise to 18% and position on the rope.
Because my layers are above the rope layer in the background I'm blocking the rope. I create a "new group from layers" which lets me add another mask to the group of 3 of me. Using black paint in this added mask I remove parts of me so the rope shows through. This gives the illusion that the rope is on the outside of me closer to the camera which it's not.
Now to that blank layer we added we use a very soft edge paint brush set to about 20% opacity and paint in some shadows under my shoes and body.
Final touches are a crop with some straightening and a dash of sharpening. It took almost as long to write this up as it did to do the whole thing.
Enjoy my friends...
