Helmeted Guineafowl

We went to see a house in a lovely complex on the other side of the dam, which young friends of ours are interested to buy. Oh my, what a beautiful area! It is situated on a huge piece of land, with some game and lóts of birds and a big part of it bordered by the dam, which forms part of the estate!

Awesome views from the house, all three bedrooms on the top floor have balconies with glass sliding doors opening onto the balcony. An excellent buy at about half the market value, since it is a reposessed house and the Bank must only get back what is still outstanding on the loan.

There are a few flocks of helmeted guineafowl on the estate with a number of very young chicks! They are absolutely adorable!

By the way, Fanie, our gateguard, called me this afternoon, he found a baby dove, just a few days old, abandoned and thrown out the nest by the mother, it was sitting on the ground!

Needless to say, we are feeding it with a syringe as well!! Eisch!! ;-)
