Oh Happy Day
We got a dishwasher today!
I almost want to stop there. Almost.
But where did I leave off yesterday.... well, swimming went well, I suppose, Ben was not the star this week but he was tired and although he did lots of great swimming he wanted me in the pool room quite a lot.
Steve brought a boat home last night. I really should have taken a picture of that. It can wait though, it's not going anywhere just yet. It's a 2-man kayak and I'm actually quite excited about taking it out. We used to enjoy rowing together while we were in Finland, so who knows, we may yet go rowing again. It's a sea-kayak though which does frighten me a little bit - I may enjoy rowing and swimming but I'm not a total water-baby and want reassurance that it's going to be ok before risking my life taking it out on the sea!! It's the prospect of currents taking us away from shore that has me worried. You can tell I've not grown up near the sea can't you.
Ben spotted his Peppa Pig Spaceship Easter Egg thingy today. I didn't think he'd noticed that I'd bought it when we went out to the supermarket the other day and now I'm beginning to think he did see it, and that's what he was after on Thursday. I'd hidden it behind all the kitchen roll on top of a cupboard, forgotten it was there, and unveiled it unwittingly this afternoon when I got a couple of rolls of paper down. Ooops. Ben wanted his spaceship, the one just like in Nathaniel's birthday party invitation. I've had to promise him that he can have it tomorrow as a present when Grandma and Grandad arrive. He has to wait at least until then.
I can't decide whether getting easter eggs over a long period of time or all on one day is better. All that chocolate.... we still haven't finished all the Christmas chocolate. Well, Ben hasn't finished his, but that's because we're better at rationing that, and I don't like it much (not utterly keen on milk chocolate, more's the pity) so I've not been stealing it either.
We cooked for our friends today who had their baby on Monday, and went round to eat with them and say hello and natter about this that and the other. Very pleasant evening, and now Ben is in bed and I am about to turn in as well. I am quite quite shattered.
Poor Steve is still laying tiles in the bathroom.
And yes there is another small detail making me happy, but that too can wait 'til another day :)
