If you go down to the woods today....

All was not sweetness and light in the DV household today! Mr DV is the technician of this operation - he zaps the camera batteries for me overnight because he's a treasure!

We headed off for Savernake Forest which is a beautiful, forestry commission area with extremely interesting, old trees and plenty of deer. Imagine my surprise when quite quickly both batteries failed!! Camera-less in the forest!! A dreadful state for a blipper to be in! Luckily the deer I was hoping to blip did not appear or I would have been even more disgruntled!!

Anyway we were introducing Harry to a regular, family ritual of ours - picnicking! We love picnics; our son-in-law calls us extreme picnickers because we picnic whatever the weather....true British spirit! Here is Harry eating a particularly scrumptious strawberry during his first picnic. He loved being in the forest and shortly after this Gramps took him on a tour, so that he could pat all the trees (Harry, not Gramps). perhaps it's as well the batteries had died!
