Carrots

Here, Benidicto looks like a happy man. This is his first crop of carrots on his new land in Lusangazi. He has moved about 45 km from where he lived, to manage the farm and the Bananas. He has worked on the old house there and his wife and three children should come in mid March. He has his own acre of land with water and loves growing carrots.
Here he is seen (in the middle) filling the bag for market.

John,
I went to Sonda with Julius, and the guys were busy weeding the mustard plots, the latest fresh maize was sold and has yielded 6500mk.
Benedicto was getting his carrot ready for selling. We planted just a little to test the soil. Most of the carrot did very well, a little did not, as there was too much water.
We have just planted mustard, in Lusangazi.
