...Wake up Maggie......

Long, long day at work today.
Got home to a beautiful evening, decided we're having a barbie tomorrow, so the Boss decided we needed wood for the chiminea, so that was my evening, saw and axe in hand, sweat dripping, cutting wood for tomorrow.

Then the Boss decided I was going to the tip tomorrow and so I loaded up all the old cardboard boxes etc into the car ready for the morning.

Checked e-mails etc and then just for the hell of it looked at the BBC i-player. Came across an absolute gem....Big Hits...Top of the Pops 1964 -1975.
The tracks of my formative years between the ages of 6 and 17.

Transported back in time:
The Supremes Baby Love
Righteous Brothers You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling
Sonny & Cher I Got You Babe
Beatles Hey Jude
Rolling Stones Let's Spend The Night Together
Procul Harem Whiter Shade Of Pale
Staus Quo Pictures Of Matchstick Men
Peter Sarstedt Where Do You Go To My Lovely
Kinks Lola
T Rex Get It On
David Bowie Starman
Queen Kiler Queen
Abba Waterloo

and this....probably my all time favourite

Rod Stewart and The Faces Maggie May

The Faces really were a fantastic band...... just look what happened when they broke up........
Kenny Jones replaced Keith Moon of the Who
Ronnie Wood joined the Stones
Ronnie Lane had success with Slim Chance
Ian McGlachlan joined Free
and of course Rod had huge solo success.

What an evening of nostalgia....how many do you remember?

Trivia question for you : Who did Rod and Ronnie Wood persuade to mime playing the mandolin on TOTP for Maggie May?
