ANOTHER TUSCAN HILLSIDE
I took this pic early this morning in case nothing better turned up and nothing did. The house on the right is called Casa della Volpe now, or Fox House. We used to call it "The House of the Barking Dogs." I did a pic of it way back on 13th April 2010 and will try to include a link to its fascinating, and a bit grim, story. It's for rent and our guests are staying in it this week.
Above it is Casa di Massini. It is owned by two ne'er-do-well brothers, one troublesome, the other a bit dim. Mercifully, they live in town. They rent the house to the odd tourist. I understand the inside has not been changed since their mother died 40 years ago.
The houses, lower left, are inhabited by real people. The two bright green trees poking above the rooftops there are lime or linden trees. Their blossoms smell divine. The grey-green trees everywhere are olives, of course, and those still bare are black oak.
