Job Done!

Another gorgeous sunny day spent mostly out in the garden.

I even had time to photograph a job I'd undertaken on my day off yesterday, trimming back the long stump of the birch tree that I posted here on Wednesday.

On the whole I was pleased with the outcome of my labours (the whole job done entirely with hand tools, involving a number of cuts at different angles on the thick stem followed by a couple of subtle 'shave' cuts to leave a neat finish at the end) but still when I photographed it this afternoon, sap was continuing to pour from the cut.
