a little birdhouse in your soul...

A pottering day in the hazy sunshine - papers and picnics in the garden and then tinkering and planting and sowing round at the allotment.

I hadn't been down there for a couple of weeks so it was exciting to see it all with the definite hue of spring. Blossom was starting to poke out of the cherry tree at the bottom of our plot and the rhubarb had exploded from nothing to gigantic in that short space of time. It was great to see so much activity - everybody was buzzing about doing something interesting looking (they were probably only weeding but still, it looked pretty interesting to me).

After we'd finished our hard graft (it is VERY hard planting basil I'll have you know) Bry set a roaring fire in our new and improved 'fire pit area' and we sat for a good wee while, very content with it all.

Our allotment is literally round the corner from our house but every time we get back from it, we feel like we've actually been away for the day. I actually felt like we'd had a micro-camping session, especially with the smell of campfire on our clothes.

I hope it always feels like that.
