Frankfurt's greeting committee

Arrived safe and sound in Frankfurt this evening again. When taking the main road into Frankfurt you pass this building (DZ BANK Tower) which is one of the more recognizable buildings in town. Oh, I had to stop at a traffic light and took this photo while standing, not driving ;)

This "crown" that you can see at the top of the building had become quite a known architectural feature ... it is been said that during winters icicles would form at the rims and fall down. So you can probably imagine how dangerous this can be when pointy icicles fall from that height. In order to prevent this from happening they had to install heating. It does make you wonder that no one had thought about it when actually designing this building.
