Such a beautiful day again today. It felt like the middle of July rather than April. Decided to make the most of the weather whilst it was here and spend as much time as possible outside.
The local large carboot sale started up again today so we headed there this morning. Erin made us laugh as we drove into the field (with the car windows up) by announcing in a very proper voice "Oh I think I can smell donuts". There is no way she could and the carboot finished back in Octoberish time yet she remembered that there was a donut van here. She really is her mothers daughter!! We didn't get any but opted for ice lollies instead as it was so hot.
We got a couple of bits whilst there, a bargain pack of 11 jigsaw puzzles in a tube for just £2 and some leek plants to share between my, Jack and Erins garden. Jack and Erin wanted to go on the bouncy castle which we usually let them do at the end if they are good. They love it as it is a choice between a huge bouncy castle or bouncy slide. This time however it was a very small castle, smaller than friends have hired for their childrens parties and it had gone up and he wanted £2 for 5 mins. So instead of going on it Jack and Erin were taught the meaning of rip off and I promised them that as soon as we found a good one they could go on it but this one was rubbish. Sad as it was the same man as last year running it.

After the boot sale we went to a local lakeside cafe with walks. The children love it there as the ducks all come running to you hoping that when the waitress brings your lunch you will share. Last time we went we just had lunch and fed the ducks but this time we decided to do the walk too. It was lovely, not a huge walk but around 7 lakes and ponds with moorhens, a swan and geese along with the ducks. The swan was stunning and I must have taken about 30 pictures of it wanting it to be my blip, yet when we went through the days pictures both Darren and I preferred this one of a ducks feather that Erin threw into the water and I took one quick snap of. Blip irony I guess.
Finished the day off at home in the garden with the water sprinkler going again and the boys from across the road joining us with their Mum. Then for tea we had our first bar-be-que of the year which in Jacks words was delicious.
I love days like today, I wouldn't have changed a thing about it.
