Am Buachaille, Emma and Sandwood Bay
We drove up to the far north-west after my climb in the Cairngorms, stopping off for a frosty night's camping in the (closed) campsite at Ullapool; we woke in the morning to the expletives of a local who had chanced upon our tent and couldn't believe we'd willingly sleep under canvas at that time of year. It was still a long way up to Sheigra, our next camping spot, and then a few miles hike out to beautiful Sandwood Bay, just in time to catch the last rays of sunlight striking the beach. Big waves crashing in certainly added to a fabulously atmospheric evening.
