There she goes...
One of the two rigs that has been in Dundee's Port was being towed out of the river Tay and onwards to the North Sea.
Living here, it's not uncommon to see these Rigs moving back and forth along the River. However, they are a fascinating spectacle to watch. If you look closely, you can see the line attached to the Pilot boat. The Norwegian Tugs accompanying the Rig are dwarfed next to the Rig's huge structure.
I checked on the marine traffic website a while ago, (how sad) and its now in the middle of the North Sea making steady progress at
5 knots to it's destination Durago.
I took this shot from the beach at Monifieth where we had our picnic lunch today.
As it's the last day of the Spring Holidays, we took Claire to the Links Market in Kirkcaldy. Not her thing as it turns out. It was really noise and busy, and the rides do look a bit intimidating.
She did have a ride on a cockerel?? on the Carousel and ate some candy floss, but that was her limit.
Dinner and an ice cream cone in St Andrew's finished the holiday nicely.
I need to start thinking about packing for the school trip on Monday, and making sure Mr G has enough in the fridge to eat whilst Claire and I are away.
And there I am almost in work mode again.
