You can't mention the acronym D V L A (wa**kers) in front of me, without me going into a full blown rant.
2 years ago my licence was revoked for 6 months because I unwisely declared that I was taking medication for Bipolar Disorder. This medication did not in anyway impair my ability to drive, in fact quite the opposite.
However DVLA took to the discriminatory stance that I was unfit to drive.
It used to frustrate me no end to have to rely on the generous of other people to get around. What was more infuriating was watching the really bad even dangerous driving of others knowing that my driving was far safer than theirs.
Despite numerous letter, faxes, emails and phonecall between, THEM and my Doctor and me, due to the bureaucracy of THEIR PROCESSES, it took a momentous effort pursued them to have a rethink.
I have Mr G to thank for his perseverance and level headedness that finally won the battle.
I was granted a licence for one year.
One year on and I had to go through the same process of applying for my licence again, and not without another fuck up mess on their part, I have finally been granted my full licence again.
Morale of the story, tell DVLA nothing that might give them reason to discriminate against you.
How I was treated still irks me......can you tell?
