Duckweed Vortex

Looking rather like one of Yann Arthus-Bertrand's stunning views of Earth From Above, these are actually patterns made by tiny Duckweed plants floating on the surface of a pond at one end of a meadow at Craigie, Aberdeenshire - about 100 metres east of the silhouetted trees I posted here about a couple of weeks ago.

But who would not yearn to explore these imaginary coastlines, to sail on this vast wave-covered ocean - and to ponder and beware the huge vortex that lies at the heart of this magnificent blue/green watery world...
