...Leavin' on a jet plane..........
Not me you understand....I was leaving for a day's fishing. This was the sky at 6.30 this morning.
Today was warm and sunny and the fishing was poor.
9 of us set up and in the first hour no-one had a bite.
Then we found out why.......seemingly during the winter the owner turned on the airator to keep the water clear of ice for a match. Brilliant idea, except the idiot didn't realise that pulling freezing air through water at 0 degrees just super cools the water without letting it freeze.
The result? Most of the fish die.
Of course we didn't find this out until after we'd paid and started the match. Shaun and Sam gave up after an hour, Roy and Gordon after an hour and a half, Tucker after two hours and me after two and a half. We moved across to the other pond and caught fish (I had 10 chub in about thirty minutes) but the day was ruined. Charlie, Tom and Henry stuck it out, eventually Charlie won by catching two small fish.
The Son and Heir came for his tea tonight, Young Helen was at work, the Boss was at work so I cooked for the S&H and the Daughter. Been out for a game of crib and a beer with Derek and now it's time for bo-bo's.
Might go fishing again tomorrow, but definitely need to be in work on Tuesday.
