On guard

Rufus is on watch...if the gate rattles...if there is the sound of footsteps ... he is on vigil, but best of if all - if the tinkle of the neighbours cat's collar rings - he is like a dog with ADHD...he stops breathing and launches at the gate, pogo sticks along the fence with a blatant disregard for any flora or fauna in his way...and yet after 2 years the cat still gets away - just...one day, maybe one day....
