On top of Europe! (Sul tetto d'Europa!)
I know we're slaves to experiences, but travelling up to see the Monte Bianco/ Mont Blanc was really quite incredible.
When we flew over from London on April 3rd, the mountains were almost all white. One of the cable car operators said this year has been quite abnormal. No snow for a few weeks and hence, disappointing for skiers and snowboarders.
After 3 cable car rides is the viewing platform at Punta Helbronner, 3462m above sea level. In the middle lies the border line between France and Italy. Funnily enough, on the French side, it was windy and cold. In Italy however, sunny and warm. Classic!
As always, we were ultra unprepared. No hats or gloves, and Roberto even forgot his sunglasses. After 10min, we had to hide in the bar. It was human (or silly) enough not to overcharge so our cappuccino and hot chocolate were worth every penny.
Of course we used the opportunity to develop our photography skills. This photo with the Monte Bianco in the background is my favourite... and it was taken with my Nokia E72. "Epic Fail!"
