Timeless

We decided to leave the housework and decorating behind us today and went 'out and about'. We came upon this little village and it seemed so typically English, with the thatched cottages and the war memorial. Signs of Spring dotted about. It was peaceful and looked idyllic.

I found it quite poignant that the poppy wreath from November's Remembrance Day was still very much in evidence. I hope we never lose the tradition of remembering those who died in the Wars, they gave their lives so that we could enjoy the lives we lead, sometimes I wonder whether we have let those brave, young people down by the choices that we have made - or the choices that have been made for us.

Anyway, we had a good time and even had one of our picnics looking over some interesting forestry commission land. Took lots of blips but opted for this one in the end.
