Chocolate Simnel Cake

The creme egg cupcakes were merely a trial run for this.

What's in it? Well...

Three layers of chocolate sponge, with a whole cadbury's caramel egg baked into two of the layers and a whole creme egg baked right in the centre of the last layer. (At this point I am reminded of "The Frog and Peach" sketch)
The bottom layers are squidged together with white chocolate buttercream. The top layer is glued on with milk chocolate goo with mini marshmallows in.
It's covered in dark chocolate ganache.

What makes it a Simnel Cake? I think baking the chocolate eggs in the middle is like baking the marzipan in a proper Simnel cake. Marzipan is also represented, if you like, by the shards of almond brittle on the top. And of course, there are 11 chocolate eggs to represent the apostles, in place of the usual 11 balls of marzipan. (Judas may or may not have been eaten straight from the packet)

You can't eat the chicks. That would be taking it too far...
