Smog in the Lakes

We had a BBQ yesterday evening and after a couple of glasses of wine I decided that I better back blip rather than write a load of rubbish. I'll try and be more organised next time.

I walked up Barrow yesterday, I think I've mentioned in previous blips that it's pretty much on my door step and is a good mountain for a quick stroll. As forecast the 'smog' was present, and whilst it's been hazy all week, yesterday it was particularly bad. I felt sorry for the tourists who had made the effort to get to the summit to be faced with poor views of the normally outstanding scenery. I can't remember ever seeing visibility so poor!

This view of the Skiddaw range was taken quite low down where visibility was slightly better, but I decided to blip it to illustrate the effects of the weather on our views. Still the exercise did me the world of good, and allowed to me to eat guilt free at the BBQ, yummy.
