Slow day in the garden

Done some more armchair gardening today. We were meant to be going out for a picnic with church but I wasn't feeling great so we took it very easy at home instead.

Yesterday and Wednesday appear to have become a bit muddled here in my little corner of blipworld. The picture and entry that appears for yesterday was actually for Wednesday, but I uploaded it straight from my iPhone on Thursday morning and it has managed to get its knickers in a twist and thought I meant it was for Thursday. Which it wasn't. Thursday, in case you are wondering, was a truly awful sick day and not worthy of any airspace on blip so I shall have a muddled two days with a gap instead. My first gap. *sobs* Hey ho. That's the way it goes.

It has been spectacularly sunny again though so we spent most of the day outdoors, Steve fixed up the canopy over the climbing frame which Ben was excited to help with; we brought his digger outside so he could trundle a bit with that too. He had fun digging in the dirt and filling his wheelbarrow and trundling the wheelbarrow over to the digger and filling the digger - the space under the seat which lifts up - with dirt. Joy... We did remember to tip all that out before bringing the digger back indoors!

And I had one of my first real cravings of the pregnancy. Chips. I needed chips. So Steve took Ben out and bought chips from the chippy -and came back with battered sausages as well! I hugged him - I may not have wanted sausages when he went out, but when he came back with them I REALLY wanted them and they were GORGEOUS. The chips hit the spot too ;)

Chippy lunch in the garden in the sunshine with my boys.... I am so blessed.

Steve did some digging for me in the afternoon, and we got most of the plants dad bought on Wednesday planted. One of the broom bushes has gone behind the climbing frame (I'm determined to block that bit off!), an azalea has gone in the border, and the strawberry plants have joined the gooseberry in its lovely tub to keep it company. The other broom bush is destined for the front garden. I would like an upright fuschia for the front as well, I need to keep an eye out for one of them. It'll come. Right now the dianthus I planted back in November is looking beautiful :)

It was a very slow day for me though, I did hardly anything. I managed to have a bath in the morning which made me feel sick but at least I was clean; but by the evening I'd perked up a bit so we had what is turning in to a regular occurrence - mashed potato, broccoli, carrots, gravy and random meat. I can't remember what meat we had, it might have been burgers and chicken skewers! I think we're eating healthier dinners at the moment than we have done for a long time. I need those veggies!! Ben's not eaten any more broccoli since whatever day last week it was that he ate some and wanted more, but it was a start and who knows, maybe he'll eat some more again one day. He still doesn't like the idea of carrots though. At all.
