We got out!

We got out today, actually made it out of the house together for a walk! It took us until well into the afternoon to manage it, but we did it. I spent half the morning in bed again, we were meant to be going out to a family fun day but mornings are just proving too much for me at the moment so it just didn't happen.

But we finally got ourselves together, Steve and Ben popped out to the post office for me while I pampered myself and painted all my nails ready to face the world. Silly isn't it ;)

Changing bag packed, camera memory card changed for one that had more than 4 pictures left on it, juice bottles filled... off we headed to town, in search of shorts for Steve, t-shirts for me, nappies for Ben, chip shops and cafes and the beach.

We managed nearly all of that. Steve found some shorts but his size will be in the shop on Tuesday so we have an excuse to get out then too! I got a couple of tees, we remembered the nappies and also remembered to get a present each for my new nephews (my brother and his wifey had twins the other week to add to the boy and girl they already have!). We went in to Costa for a coffee, I wanted an iced decaf mocha but Steve got confused and while I was in the loo he ordered a decaf mocha freschato or whatever they are called. I watched the girl make them and did wonder about it. Couldn't believe how much sugar went into them!! Anyway she'd not made them with decaf so had to make them again, and then I just couldn't drink mine because it was too sweet and too creamy so I had to go back and order a normal iced decaf mocha which was JUST what I wanted. Steve drank both the creamy confections. Eventually. We took them with us to the beach and Ben helped! We called in at the chippy on the way down to the beach and that was me happy. I got a tan. Am amazed. It normally takes weeks for my legs to get any colour on them but there is a very definite tan line where my shorts stop. Glad I wore my short shorts!! Ben had suncream on but his arms have been exposed for a while so he's got brown arms already. He's loving wearing shorts! Steve's feet are close to burnt status so he's using Ben's factor 50 on his feet now!

Absolutely knackered by the time we got home, so after tea and chores and this and that Ben and I went to bed and I have no recollection of Steve joining me but he must have done at some point.

I had to get up in the night for a wee, and I made a drink while I was up, and then I couldn't get back to sleep for nearly 3 hours. Ben woke up, sort of, around 2.30am and I heard him climb out of bed - thud thud - and he made it the whole 2 feet to our bed. I didn't think he'd even climbed up all the way onto the bed before he went very still again and started snoring. I prodded him with my foot to make sure he was at least on the bed and he shuffled up a bit and fell asleep over my feet. I thought, I can't leave him there.... so I made him jump when I sat up and touched his back to try and get him to come up to our end of the bed! Then he tried to climb over Steve, I think he must have been sleepwalking/crawling to be honest, there was no comprehension from him at all. I got him up to my shoulder for a cuddle and he had a huge feed without being very interested in it at all, then sat up, had a bit of juice, and collapsed forward and slept with his head by our feet all night.
