7-spot
I haven't seen any harlequin ladybirds this year, only 7-spots. This is good news since last year the harlequins were everywhere. Perhaps only the hardy British 7-spots could survive the cold winter.
I had a very lazy day today after the 26-mile cycle ride yesterday. There's another long ride planned for tomorrow so it was a home day to rest those leg muscles (and back muscles - lots of steps up which to carry the bicycle). However, it was too nice to stay at home, even in the garden. So, Fred and I walked around the cemetery, which is blooming strongly in this weather. It's so peaceful there, too, with lots of wildlife. The woodpeckers, parakeets and jays remained elusive so I snapped this ladybird instead.
From the cemetery, we walked to Dulwich and on to Red Post Hill, down to Herne Hill, through Brockwell Park and on to West Norwood. The sun is so lovely and warm - long may it stay.
