Bank Holiday

It's been wonderful today! Katie woke up in a gorgeous mood, although her teeth were upsetting her on and off all day. By 8am we were dressed and heading out. She'd given me my shoes, put her coat on (back to front and upside down) and we were off. We went to the village green and had a look at the pretties, we went to the duck pond to say hi but there were no ducks. So we walked round to the park. And we found almost 20 brand new little ducklings with a couple of adult ducks. They were gorgeous. Katie had a ball having the run of the park to herself. She even decided she was going on the biggest, wiggliest slide in the park. On her own. She carefully climbed the stairs, carefully positioned herself (on her front, feet first) and whoosh. She decided she wouldnt do that again.
We headed home, made a picnic and went to meet grandad and granny. We went to a big open area with cows wandering free, horses and lots of dogs. Katie was quite upset that she couldnt go touch the cows. But they kept walking away. She had a lovely time in the sunshine, she kept running up the hilly bits, wiggling down the steep bits, and waving at every single dog. We then went to get an icecream, which we ate in the car. She fell asleep half way through.
We then went to the Foreshore along the banks of the Humber, right under the bridge. It was very odd being on a beach where there were pebbles, then mud, not sand. We walked along and went into a big nature reserve. It was huge. There was a nice park that she enjoyed playing in. Under the toddler climbing frame, there was a little table and she kept collecting the wood chip and piling it up on the table. Then scattering it like she does with petals into ponds! Katie was thrilled to bits at how many dogs she got to say hello to. She did a bit of rockclimbing with grandad, and wanted to go up every single (very) steep slope. She didnt quite get 'not big enough yet'. It was a great place and we'll definitely go back as we didnt even see half of it.
Granny and grandad came back for tea, although Katie ate before the rest of us as she came and tugged at me saying 'highchair', which is what she says when it's "feed me fast" time! After tea, the Easter Bunny made a second visit and Katie got 2 more easter eggs. G&G bought her a lovely one with her name on. She picked her name off it, threw that away, then proceeded to eggroll. Down grandads legs. She had a great time!
