life.... in fife! :)
Had a wonderful day today. I think i overdid the celebrating last night, so awoke grumpy and hungover. My Mum phoned and asked if I wanted to do something, but frankly all I wanted to do was lie around watching Jeremy Kyle. But, she came down anyway, and we decided to go to Fife. We drove all the way along the coast, stopping off in Dalgety Bay, for lunch, then Aberdour, to the beach, Kinghorn, Burntisland, Kirkaldy and Leven. In Leven, we found a wee soft play place by the beach. The wee one LOVED it, (and of course I had to have a shot on the chute and trampolines too, for safety, you understand) and it really was great fun. She even managed to persuade my Mum to bounce around on the trampoline. Followed this with a walk along the beach with ice cream.
I was born in Fife. It was so lovely to hear stories of when we lived there, and what my Mum and Dad got up to there. Also found out that my Dad used to be a college lecturer at Buckhaven college. I cant believe I didnt know that. Also, looking over to Edinburgh, I remarked that It looked so much closer than it does on the other side. My Mum said "looks like you could swim it. Your Dad swam from Granton to Kirkaldy once." (he used to be a champion swimmer,) and learned to swim the day that My Grandad threw him in the water at Lower Largo.... Which was to be our next stop. I had a pint of beer, which helped my hangover no end, sitting outside the Crusoe hotel, looking out onto the water. simply wonderful.
When the wee one's Dad phoned, he said to her "where are you?" she said "just in the pub with Mummy" oops. He did laugh though.
Truly wonderful day and just lovely to spend all that time with my Mum. :-)
Hope you had a great day. :) x
