Paul and Will

Today's the day ................ to cycle from John O'Groats to Lands End

That's what these two were doing when they dropped by our Cafe today at work. They were on Day 5 of their trip south from John O'Groats to Lands End and roughly halfway mileage-wise.

The funny thing was that they only met for the first time somewhere near Thurso on the train that they both took to get to the start of the trip. They started off together but then went their separate ways on their own planned routes. It was only by chance that they met again today in Carlisle. And it was just as well that they did because Paul (on the left) was close to giving up this morning. He had an injured knee, his bike needed a repair, he was really homesick for his family - and today was his birthday!

I'm pleased to say though that by the time this picture was taken, Paul was back on track again and the two of them were raring to go.............
