Hadrian's Wall

Amazing to think of the men that patrolled the wall in time gone by. Following in their footsteps about the fort today made me realise why such significant places need protecting. They truly are special, magnificent in ethos even though they may not appear as such on the surface.

I spotted this teeny fern just nestled in the wall crevice.
