Stroll

A great day today, strolling along the canal. Well, as good a day as it can be strolling along our canal, I suppose. Not at all photogenic, even on the best of days. The main attraction are the ducks, mostly mallards and a couple gadwalls, maybe a widgeon or two thrown in for good measure. These ducks eat very well, several loaves of stale bread a day and once I saw a family with small kids emptying cereal boxes in piles for them. It's empty nutrition for the ducks and just fills them up so they don't eat their normal food.

These three are hybrids, about the size of a goose, fully three times larger than a "wild" mallard. Bullies, too. Size does matter.
