Abstract Eyes

Wait...What?? NOOOO!!!!

I pulled a rookie move this evening. A rookie not thinking clearly kind of embarrassed with myself move. I managed to lose all of the photos that I took at the zoo today. A couple a hundred of close-up animal shots. And of course photos of the kids sprinkled in between. Damn. DAMN. DAMN!!! I had one shot. One photo that as soon as I took it, I said, "Bam, just got my blip". This orangutan monkey ape was sitting right at the window when we walked up to the exhibit. Staring at us. Staring at me. Staring right down into the lens of my camera. And I got the shot.........and then I lost it due to my jacked file management skills.

But I'm got over it. Really I am. My good girlfriend took amazing photos today and I can get some of the cute kiddy ones from her as a nice memory of our day. Our boys didn't have preschool so we had talked about going to the zoo today earlier in the week. Weather permitting of course since this rain has been so touch and go lately. And we had a nice little competition going between us: Who could capture the coolest animal National Geographic photograph. And I do have to say, even though I lost Mr. Monkey Ape shot, she took some killer photos today with her sweet telephoto lens. Killer. She's got a leopard pic that I'm dying to see how it turned out.

So all in all, this batch of pics were mostly of animals and I feel like I lucked out big time that it wasn't a batch of extremely special once in a lifetime type of event photos. Like a wedding perhaps. Or a birth. Or another life changing moment that people pay big money for photographers to capture as their moment can never be replicated again. See the kind of pressure I'm talking about? I am not kidding, I have got some serious file management stuff to sort out. Serious. I know that I won't ever make this mistake again but I am sure that there are plenty of others waiting out there for me to stumble upon. And that is why I want to further my knowledge and really get to know the in's and the out's of everything photography. Know the technology, the programs, the this's and the thats. It's extremely important.

So here I am. Lost is my cool big ape pic for the day and in its place, is a reenactment of my "Ooooooooooh Nooooooooooo I diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidn't juuuuuuuuust dooooooo thaaaaaaat" moment. And I have to say, I do kinda like this one. It's a self timer but if I couldn't share a pic from my delightful day with one of my best friends and our kids, then it might as well be this one. So nite cha'll.......this blipper is peace'd OUT!

***And ps. I also managed to lose my blip from yesterday. A darling pic of my daughter standing in my husband's shoes. So cute. And now I have a hole in my daily blipping. A missed blip. I don't think that I've missed a blip since I had the flu over a year ago. DAMN. But I'm over it. The show must go on! :) But I didn't lose one of my favorite blips that I just loaded this evening. RIGHT HERE!
