Hide Away Folk Family

Royal wedding

Quite a few, but not too many, of the shops in town had royal wedding window displays. Most were entirely tacky, save for one or two.

The most intriguing window display however was in The Real Eating Company.

One of their windows had a table set for a meal and a bottle of fizz and a wedding related offer. Ho hum.

The other, however, had these two antique rhubarb forcers set alongside each other on wicker picnic hampers.

This may have absolutely nothing to do with events today. But I chose to take this as a very subtle socio-political comment on the wedding, the media guff and the treatment of royal brides.

I also like the simple plain tones, and the contrasting texture of the pottery and wicker.

Vive la revolution.
