A patch of blue
I unexpectidly spent the morning at the boys school doing various PTA projects, classroom work and then fulfilling a last minute request (practically in tears) from Jack to stay and have lunch with him. It's been a busy morning that prior was a tiring night of limited sleep due to our chocolate lab barking off and on most the night.
After returning home from school I sat down in the backyard to think about the projects we want to work on this summer when the clouds cleared and a small patch of blue sky appeared. It's been an otherwise fairly gloomy weather day. When the blue sky made an apperance so did this bird right in the middle of it. He has friends that I noticed are perched on the cell phone tower in the farmers back property. I laugh that we call him "the farmer" because he no longer has any farm animals and just has a small garden he tends to in the summer. There is a barn but it looks to be used for storage only. He'll always be "the farmer" to us though. Anyway, for some reason I liked watching this bird flying around carelessly enjoying the temporary patch of blue sky.
