Take me out to the ball game(s).....
What a busy and exciting day! It started off bright and early with us needing to all be at baseball pictures at 8am which was then followed up by Jack's baseball game then a couple hours later was Carter's. This is Jack's 3rd year playing baseball and since he's 9 it meant that he moved up into Midget Nationals while Carter is still playing T-ball. We were blessed with sunshine for both games although Jack's was still a bit chilly outside.
This was such a fun day getting to watch both my boys play and really enjoy this all american game. I had a lot of pictures to choose from for my blip today but I went with probably a little more unconventional one. Sure I had many pictures of the boys catching balls, hitting balls and running basis but this one really stuck out to me. This is my oldest son Jack and his friend and teammate. Up until this season they did not know each other but immediately when practices started they bonded with one another and have become wonderful friends. Ironically this teammates little brother is on Carter's T-Ball team and they have also become close (pokemon card trading) friends. THIS is what baseball and other sports are about to me. It's about my children forming close friendships with their team, loving the game and making memories. Whether they continue to play ball and get scholorships or go on to the major league really doesn't matter to me, that is not why we play (contrary to what many coaches theories are these days).
I'm looking forward to a great season of baseball and watching my boys grow athletically and emotionally.
ps. One of the many aspects of todays games that was so fun was that at both games I saw fellow blipper and friend partyof5. Our boys played against each other so I bet you can imagine the amount of pictures that were being taken!
