"Really Darling?"....

...murmured Dave as he struggled to look interested in former Chancellor of the Exchequer Alastair Darling's scintillating chat.

Early start for a day of charity bag packing in the local hypermarche. Little did we know that we'd collide with Darling, Ian Gray MSP (Labour's Leader in the Scottish Parliament), Ewan Aitken MSP and a number of Labour party faithfulls on the election campaign trail. Darling stopped to speak to Ragnar (our Icelandic Scout), who insisted on completing the shopping bag-pack of a Leith pensioner before imparting some Icelandic wisdom for Darling to consider. Good lad.

Elsewhere, I was driving along Great King Street when rowing legend Reinhardt Von Hof's wife, Hazel, pulled across from her lane into my lane making for a parking space, and tanned-in the front of my car. Smashing. Everyone was OK, so details were swapped and the insurance companies can sort it out........
