Flames don't usually do that
Yes, it's odd that the flame isn't right side up and the wax isn't spilling on my hand. I rotated the photo because I like the lines the light captured on the heel of my palm and this angle for some reason emphasizes that.
I actually was never a big fan of my hands. My sausage like fingers are short and stubby, I always lose at thumb war and have a hard time finding the right bowling ball that fits nicely into my fingers. But what I really truly love about them are all the lines on my palms. From my life line, perpendicular lines fan out reminding me of grains of wood and more lines just dance gracefully around every which direction as if they were trails left on the ice by a figure skater...or at least I like thinking of it that way...
why am I lighting a candle? to hide the stench of mistake. Note to those who happen to be inebriated: do not begin to heat a chicken breast in the oven then proceed to pass out in the middle of the night. A roommate of mine did just that and March welcomed us with a cremated chicken and a smoky apartment with a burnt smell. I saved my room from this misfortune by lighting a pleasant biscotti scented candle I bought yesterday.
