Hamurana Springs

Well, after 2 days riding (around 11 hours on the bike), bad weather, and such a good days yesterday - we decided not to spoil it, and take the day off. Which was a good idea as we (or at least I was) very tired and the weather did get very bad. So bad in fact that we only just made it out of Rotorua.

So we had a leisurely breakfast, at Lime again. Went to the airport to check options. Finding few we went to Blue and Green lakes, and spent a good hour or so photographing. It was great.

Options were to head to Polynesian Spa and spend the afternoon there, but we sort of got into driving/photo mode, so we went exploring.

The two highlights. Hamurana Springs, great walk in the rain, and then the Okere Falls Store (best coffee and food).

And then to the airport. 50/50 on the flight we were told, so we tried to rent a car and drive to Auckland, no go. So in the end we had to check in, and hope. And that worked. The plane did arrive, and we did take off, and got home as planned.

But it was far from a certain outcome. Nice to be home ;-)
