Waiting in the shadows

One of the pleasures of starting to blip has been an early morning dash round the garden taking photos of the flowers. It's lovely to see the subtle changes each day. So far, I've not used any of them for my daily blip, but here is a photo of the japonica and clematis meeting. John pruned the japonicas a few days ago making it easier for me to see the flowers! The clematis was here when we moved in nearly 9 years ago and it covers a wall, goes round the corner and looks beautiful every spring.

We are very excited to have two eggs in the bluetit nesting box. It is surprisingly anxiety making watching these little birds. There was a bluetit trapped in the greenhouse one morning and as we did not see any visits to the nesting box during the day I wondered if they had been frightened off, but one did return at night and sleep in the nest. They don't seem to sit on the eggs much during the day - I've just seen one return with a little bit of nest material a couple of times. Will the eggs get cold? Does it matter? How do they know what to do? Perhaps they are at the ante-natal class or Mothercare?! I will try to post a photo soon.

Thanks for all your comments on yesterday's blip. Much appreciated. The weather has broken today, but it offers opportunities to blip other things ........
