Pismo beach --> Monterey

Eric's birthday
We spent the morning walking along the seaside front at Pismo beach.
The wind was very cold.
After lunch, we set off in the car to Monterey. As my son kept saying "Today, we are going to Monterey, a 147 miles away).
It was an interesting drive up. Lots of farms along the way with pickers and packers to be seen for many, many miles.
We arrived in Monterey in the afternoon.
The kids wanted to go and swim in the pool. We'd booked this motel on the internet this morning. A real bargain - only $50. The room was huge and the pool was covered and heated.
In the evening, we went out to eat to celebrate Eric's birthday. The portions were huge.
