the wall
Another daily site photo, and three days of work later and the walls were chest high. There was more grout to mix, more bricks to carry - and lay, more reinforcing wire to cut to length and tie into cages. You can see the tall narrow cages in place for the structural columns to the front wall. Also visible are the tall eucalyptus sapling trunks used as uprights for the scaffolding we constructed inside.
As an architect I found being involved on the construction side fascinating - a little worrying sometimes, maybe, but it is always good to be reminded of just what can be done without heavy machinery and high-vis jackets.
