Evening Calm
I seem to have been going about today's business with one of those fat, gray clouds hanging over my head. No particular reason for it. I guess I just got out of bed on the wrong side. The result was though, that there was a general low level grumpiness simmering away, spluttering to the surface occasionally and making its presence felt. Just all a bit rubbish really.
However, this evening has lifted my spirits, starting with picking the H Meister up from school after his trip to "The Kingdom of Osiris." He was still bouncing around, but the same could not be said of his teacher, Mrs N! :-)
Then came the first open water training session of the new tri season. Crikey, was it cold! Head...clamp...that sort of thing. Going to be a bit of a challenge getting to these valuable events, as Tuesday is a kids-with-me night, but it will help with prep for the races to come AND more importantly, it is a great chance to spend some time suffering with other like-minded, crazy individuals in these beautiful surroundings. Being in and around the lake on evenings like this, has a very calming effect. Perhaps it's the high caused by all those "endolphins", released in response to the exertion and the bracing temperatures. Who cares?! It does the trick!
Then finally, a good natter with C. Guaranteed to lift one's spirits! :-) xxx
Feel all warm and fuzzy now, but smell faintly of pond. So I shall go and shower, rinse the wetsuit and head for bedlam. Night night Blipland!
:-)
