In need of repair

Asked Joe what he would like for his birthday yesterday. His reply, "nothing really, oh, I know, could we have the snooker table pockets replaced?"

They are certainly in desperate need of some attention, the string is crumbling away, and my attempts at repair (tying up with red ribbon) will not hold for much longer. So I started making enquiries, and today received first quote to completely renovate the table.

It's pretty special to us- an antique "Thurston" quarter size table, brought by my Grandpa in 1960. We had to knock down a wall to accommodate it, and can now just about get all round with a short cue.

Joe loves it. I do too. It deserves special attention. We'll see what we can do.
