A new vision

Mary had an appointment this morning at 8am with a small community to formalise the beginning of their community preschool, but there was no diesel (a regular occurrence), so she sent our roving headmaster of our four rural preschools, on his bike to deputise.
Soon she got the frantic phone calls: they had planned a grand celebration for the occasion. We found a car and some petrol and headed out with a bag of maize and soya for the porridge.
Our embarrassed arrival was greeted by all the singing and dancing that one gets on many occasions. The whole community were there looking their best.
They even managed to get a radio reporter from the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation to wait for the official opening.(The BBC of Malawi!!!)
I got lots of pics and video but I like this one of Mary with the retired chief; a grand old man with an excellent vision of what he would like for his community into the future.
