Bagging
I've blipped my change jar before. I hasten to add that it hasn't taken until now to sort out and bag those coins. This is another lot, and the bagging was brought on because dear Susan next door gave me a Christmas present of a magic jar whose cap is supposed to recognise coins dropped through its slot and then calculate a running total. The idea is better than the execution, as it happens, so the great plan to use the magic jar to count the coins quickly proved unreliable. That's when John, Susan's visiting son, came to rescue. He'd come in to pay his Christmas respects and volunteered to help with the counting and sorting.
It's amazing how much my coin pile amounts to whenever I get round to counting it. This little lot came to the guts of 350 euro by the time it was all bagged and ready for dropping off at the bank. Not bad at all.
It's a real shame that tis ended up as today's blip, since it suggests that counting money was today's highlight. Not at all. The undoubted highlight was out annual spending of New Year's Eve with our friends Dave and Alan in Bray. Unfortunately, Dublinshooter's attemots at blipping that occasion proved pretty woeful, and certainly didn't merit making it onto Blipfoto. Hence the coins.
We had the usual brilliant meal, great chat and crazily competitive and highly entertaining session of charades which went on and on and on well in o the early hours (as in 6.00 am or so). I can't help wondering if we're really as welcome as the lads say we are. It's always a very, very late night when we join up for New Year's Eve. Maybe next year we'll get to bed a bit earlier and still have lots and lots of fun.
Thanks guys for a terrific night.
