BLACK WATCH MONUMENT EDINBURGH
I had a different photo in mind but when I got home this was my best shot.
This is the BLACK WATCH monument that stands on the mound EDINBURGH showes khaki-clad highlanders from the Boer War. It was put up in 1910 when KING Edward VII had just died so there was no ceremony to unveil it.The designer was Birnie Rhind born in EDINBURGH.This is only part of the monument. It has been reconditiond just lately.
The mound is made of earth and rubbish put there to make room for the new town.
After the mounds of earth lay for along time and people making paths to get to the new
town.Thy built a road on it.
