Gate-crashed by a brass band
Up at our local shopping centre today to sell books, clothes and stuff to raise money for son number two's school.
We had booked the covered area (called the pagoda) ages ago and set up at around 8.30. At about 10 am, people started arriving with instruments and looking a bit surprised to see our sale in full swing with lots of people browsing our stuff.
We compromised and shared the covered area - the band got to play and we got to sell, though we had to move our tables around to give them enough space. Good job none of us had hangovers though! It was pretty loud at times!
I enjoyed the sale - great to meet some old aquaintances and to recommend books to people. We should have raised some funds for the parents' association too.
