Chicks Fly Too!
I went to watch an RC model airplane aerobatic contest this morning, although I wasn't all that interested in watching the flying. After I've seen a few planes repeating the same routines, I get bored. My reason for going was that I'd read there would be a fly-past by some 7/8th scale replicas of WW1 fighters from Bellingham airport.
When I got to the field I was told that the fly-past hadn't been confirmed, but was a possibility. It was cold and breezy with rain showers and I didn't feel like waiting indefinitely for something that might not happen, so I didn't stay very long.
There were some very impressive models. I think some were 40% scale copies of full-size aerobatic competition airplanes. I noticed several had 170 cc engines (twin cylinder, 18 horsepower), and I saw one 200 cc engine.
Today was the first time I've seen a female RC pilot, hence the title of my blip. It wasn't my idea -- she had it written in a couple of places on her model with a cute logo. You might have to view it large to see the words.
