Sand dunes on the West Mesa (in IR)

These are kind of picturesque in a sad way. They are the result of off-roaders ripping up the vegetation with their four wheelers, big trucks and dirt bikes. There is this much sand piled up there, but all the fines have entered the air which makes the air so hazy. It is just so sad. All the little plants sticking up in the air because the soil around them has been eroded away just make me want to cry.

The dog and I went out to the edge of the West Mesa today to look at the Puerco and it was so hazy that it was hard to see across it let alone photograph it.

I give thanks for my early adulthood, working on the Puerco, and CIW, forever the principal investigator.
