The Wandering Minstrel

Folk House

Today I wandered round Xi'an city, one of the earliest if not the earliest China capital with a long history still on show. I really wished I had more time here, it is a great place, but I had to move on tonight.

This shot is a courtyard in a traditional home. It's just off one of the shopping streets on the edge of the Muslim Quarter, which was also a very interesting place to wander through.

On the way back to the hotel I walked through a park. I really wish I'd taken a picture as it would have made this blurb make sense. It was a Sunday afternoon, and the park was full of people, young and old, using the exercise equipment, playing cards, napping and socialising. A park being used for what it was designed for. Sometimes I think we need to slow down in life and get our sense of community going again.
