Cranesbill
I set out early this morning to go to a photo walk in Teesdale, but it was not to be. About 10 minutes into the drive I realised I had left my waterproof jacket at home so I had to turn around. It was then too late to set off and arrive there in time.
Instead I gardened for most of the day - which is what I should have been doing anyway! Once I get going I enjoy it, but there is so much to do I often feel daunted by it. However, there was so much to enjoy today as more and more flowers open. I moved barrow loads of our compost onto borders, planted the beans, planted up 5 tubs with pansies or mimulus (all self seeded), pulled a few weeds, etc.
In the evening I went out with my camera. The light was fading fast and it was still windy, so I had an interesting time trying to capture this little cranesbill using the camera on the tripod. No good trying slow shutter speeds!!! I love the shiny white petals and the delicacy of this tough plant. It will invade everywhere given a chance.
This is a back blip because Blipfoto was undergoing maintenance last night - just when I tried to upload.
